The world’s largest event for the label and package printing industry in Brussels proved another successful edition for Rotoflex offline finishing machines.

On the second day of Labelexpo Europe, PrintWeek India reported a confirmed Rotoflex order for the VSI 330 inspection slitter-rewinder that was demonstrated on the Mark Andy/Rotoflex stand. Indian printer Sai Paks placed the order through local representative Flexo Image Graphics (FIG), in addition to their first order for a Mark Andy Performance Series P5 press for producing in-mould labels (IML).

Established in 2008, Sai Paks is an offset and flexo printing house producing different types of specialty labels including security holograms and barcodes, and thermal labels, along with pharma cartons, leaflets, booklets and brochures.

Also shown live on the Rotoflex stand was the European debut of the HSI designed for high volume label slitting, inspection and rewinding, in a horizontal design for operator comfort and efficiency. As mentioned in Labels & Labeling, the HSI has also proven succesful in India with FIG set to install four HSI slitting machines by the end of November at Barcom Industries based in Mumbai, and two HSI machines at Signode India around the same time.

Both machines demonstrated real-time features of the Rotoflex exclusive Report Management System (RMS), a powerful tool where production data is collected from multiple finishing machines to a single interface for KPI such as run time, defects, production volume and scrap generation, as well as comparing outputs of multiple machines.

EyeC presented the Rotoflex VLI for offline finishing of tension-sensitive unsupported film on their stand, integrated with the EyeC ProofRunner delivering 100% print inspection running at speeds of up to 600 meters per minute (2000 fpm). During Labelexpo, EyeC celebrated its 15-year anniversary and invited business partners and customers to a cocktail reception at their largest-ever exhibition booth, followed by an appreciation dinner.
