Spanning four plants and employing over 320 people in China, Advance Printing Company, established in 2001 and headquartered in Suzhou, is one of the country’s most successful privately-owned label converting companies. Owner and dynamic entrepreneur, May Cai, leads a management team that has seen Advance Printing become the leading user of Mark Andy technology in the PRC, with a current total of 13 flexo presses in commercial operation, all installed within the last 10 years.
Increased SKU proliferation, a rise in the popularity of seasonal goods and various industry trends have all driven the need converters to have digital label production equipment represented in their pressroom. If you’ve broken down the cost of a label on traditional flexo equipment, you know the net profit created minus the cost per label of micro and short-run jobs just does not justify saying yes to that particular job.

To top it all off, we were able to partner with even more print businesses across the world to implement our full lifecycle solutions, making their pressrooms more efficient.

Its reputation of high-quality, maximum versatility and hardware longevity speaks for itself and makes it difficult for converters to allow themselves to part with their pressroom favorite. As you can imagine, this press’ status has caused us some headaches as we continue to improve upon and grow our business.

Market shifts towards seasonal goods, versioning, VDP, personalization, and more have brand owners demanding short run work and faster lead times. This leaves many converters having to outsource short run work, producing them inefficiently on full production flexo presses, or losing business in general. All sounding too familiar?

Something as simple and easy as getting a car inspected by a mechanic every few months keeps it running for hundreds of thousands of miles.
